Samaya Bura is located along the eastern coast of Koh Samui, overlooking scenic Lamai Bay. It offers a fresh water infinity pool, pampering spa services and a beachside restaurant.

Fitted with dark wood furnishings, rooms feature modern Thai décor and a private balcony with views of the sea or pool. Fully air-conditioned, each room comes with a cable TV, minibar and personal safe.

Samaya Bura is about 4 km from Beach Republic Club and 9 km from Samui Airport. It is a 1-hour 30-minute ferry ride from the hotel to Surat Thani.

Lovely pool and staff but a bit remote

Great outdoor area with the pool. They also have free daily sessions of yoga, soundbath etc Food at the hotel was delicious, all of a really high standard Staff were helpful to move us as we initially had booked a Mountain View room- you can barely see the mountain behind the electricity wires and the road is so noisy. Moved to a sea facing room which was spacious and much quieter.

The location is a bit further out of town and is at least a 15-20 minute walk to a more lively area. There are some bars and restaurants along the way. The beach does have rubbish on it and would have been better if it was cleaned daily

Great time, would stay again.

Lovely pool area with beach access. Lobby was well decorated. Offer free wellness activities to hotel guests!

Overall really enjoyed our stay and great value for money. Some parts of the property could use a bit of an update but overall nice.

Ok stay

The staff were very nice and cooperative. They manage to accomodate us earlier. Also very clean.

The bathroom - not very private - there is a glass and a sticker going more and more transparent up. Also the door does not seal the bathroom so you can hear everything. For me this is extremely uncomfortable. The pool area had a fishy smell. Relatively poor breakfast buffet choice.

Idealic location, welcoming staff

Love the rooms that overlook the sea. Lovely, welcoming staff. Nice food

The roadside is so noisy we couldn’t sleep there. The staff delayed moving us. It doesn’t offer any other ‘wellness’ activities.

All the staff were amazing. The suite was fantastic. The private pool was great. The views were stunning

The bed was extremely hard, but the staff added extra mattress toppers when asked. The suite was advertised as 'sea view' but there was no Seaview.

Lovely style hotel, lovely sea view, a bit rough around the edges and on a busy road but good value for a pool room.

Opens straight on to the beach at the back, lovely design and layout of the garden. Restaurant has a lovely sea view. Private pool accessed straight from the room (in our room)

On a very busy dual lane road, lots of noise from cars and motorbikes. The lobby is entirely open to the road so the noise reverberates a lot (and the lobby is very hot!). You can hear the traffic noise from the private pool which is a shame as it’s a lovely pool otherwise. The staff are very nice and work very hard, but they seem a little short staffed so service isn’t quite what it could be, and I felt bad asking about too many issues so limited my requests. They were very helpful when I did ask though. I think they are refurbishing the other half of the hotel.

Seemed more a 3 star than 4. Paid for room with sea view but could barely see the sea :(

Good clean room. Once we moved from road - balcony was nice. Spent one night on road side - not as noisy as we thought.

The beach is ok. Still dealing with a lot of garbage as you walk the beach especially if you walk to Lamai.

Very friendly staff and private pool worth paying extra for.

Location a bit far from town, needed a taxi. Room excellent, private pool was gorgeous. All staff were very friendly and some spoke good English.

Restaurant close too early No reception staff after 7pm. Buffet breakfast was good but not great. Lunch was very good.

Nice hotel on Samui

Nice quiet location, good breakfast, amazing staff that will always try to go the extra mile if you need help or any favours.

Beds were quite hard (staff did try to fix it), hotel could use a little renovation.

My experience of the hotel is like being blind folded and putting my hand in a box full of prizes and I was lucky to pick the jackpot prize

Exceptional

Staff were super helpful! Our room was very hot the afternoon we arrived, but they insisted on changing our room for us when we established our aircon wasn't working.

The shower heads were a bit odd and pointed into random directions (E.G the wall at the opposite end of the shower ????)

Had a good time in Lamai but wouldn’t stay at this accommodation again.

The staff were extremely helpful, they would go out of their way to make sure we were happy.

The hotel is very tired and in need of updating and maintenance. Although the rooms and general areas are clean the whole is in need of a deep clean. The pool area has very few sunbeds and they are very shabby as were the parasols. Breakfast was ok but limited on choice.

Go for it!

The view out of the hotel everyday was just stunning! The staff was outstanding, extremely nice, super helpful and whatever we needed or had a request with, they made it work! we stayed for 2 weeks there at the end and extended our stay, because we were happy with everything. The pool with the view straight to the ocean goes well with the Happy Hour ;) the beds are super clean, big and comfortable. There is a supermarket on the other side of the street and different restaurants around the hotel. You have to walk a little bit to the city center or take a cheap taxi, but that was fine for us as we preferred a quite environment and then going to what ever place we want to :) highly recommended

If I have to find something that could be improved is maybe a little renovation in some areas would make it look even nicer!

I would recommend for a quieter place!

we actually moved here from checking out from a terrible hotel. the hotel was such a nice and calm atmosphere, so close to the beach. the pool looks out only the private beach and it’s just so quiet compared to the other ‘party’ type hotels with people drinking in the pool and loud music.

air con took forever to actually get cold, especially if you’re out all day and come back the room is at 38/39 degrees! the breakfast wasn’t that great, mouldy bread and loads of bugs. didn’t bother us as we like cereal and yogurts!
